Product Details
This is a choice woodland perennial which grows from thickened roots in early spring. Rigid stems rise from the ground from February onwards and carry both flowers and leaves, although the leaves usually do not unfold until flowering has almost finished. The flowers are approximately 3 cms wide and are a bright golden yellow with numerous petals and bright golden anthers, the whole effect lasting for several weeks. Leaves are very finely and deeply cut giving a ferny effect and often unfurl shortly after flowering. These are quite attractive in their own right. This is a species which is used as a base for a lot of the hybridising which is done in Japan.
