A rarely offered little species Primula from Nepal to China. From the Cortusoides group this primula grows in early spring from slender rhizomes which lie just beneath the soil surface. Leaves are the first to emerge on petioles which reach around 7 cms or so in length, the leaves are more or less rounded but with shallow lobes and serrations on these, deep green in colour. Flowers are a rosy-purple colour on our form which is maintained by division, around 20 cms or so in height. Each is held in a loose head with around 10 flowers in each.
