A new hybrid and herbaceous perennial grown mainly for the foliage effect, it does however have attractive flowers. Foliage emerges in early spring from swollen roots. The leaves are rather folded along their length but not shut and each leaf is held in an upright position against the next - like praying hands! A very fine yellow margin is also evident. Flowers are borne in mid summer on rigid stems, each stems carries numerous flowers of a tubular shape. Colour is lavender-purple and these are followed by green seed pods.
