Okay so here we have a thistle! It's quite a nice thistle which is near enough evergreen and makes attractive rosettes to around 90cms wide in time. It's not invasive and doesn't produce runners of any sort, in fact we find that the seed which it produces doesn't even germinate in the garden situation.
The foliage is a silvery grey/green and makes an attractive point of interest before the flower stem is produced. We find one stem per rosette up to a height of maybe 200 cms with numerous globular white wooly flowers at the top.
