Young plants are offered of this beautifully showy sunflower-like perennial. Completely herbaceous, the leaves rise early in the spring and are broadly lanceolate to around 20cms long and grey-green in colour with fine bristly texture. These tend to make a rosette-like tuft of growth from which rise the flower stems which carry solitary flowers of a bright golden yellow reaching up to 7cms wide. The flowers slowly change colour as they age to a soft pink/red hence the name - rosea.
