A robust species of evergreen perennial from the Apennines with glossy spoon-shaped leaves held on thin stems to a height of around 5 cms high. The plant tends to make tidy hummocks of rich grey/green growth that are completely unaffected by intense weather. Flowers are borne on short stems and are solitary although many are produced. Each is a blue colour and quite fluffy, lasting for a considerable time. Ideal for troughs etc where it's proportions won't cause any harm to other plants.
