This is a form of fern that most people think of when the word 'fern' is mentioned. Large fronds rise to form the typical shuttlecock shape, occasionally to 60 cms high and almost as wide. The pinnae are undivided and rich green in colour. An easy to grow fern provided that the soil does not dry out.
Young fronds unfurl like and elephant's trunk - in a spiral sort of thing!
