We are very pleased to offer this species from Japan which is similar to A. maximowiczii but a little larger. The shoots on this species emerge in early spring, from the start it looks interesting - as do all of this genus. Green and white stripes on the growing point erupt to reveal the folded leaves, two on this species which unfurl to form a digitate leaf. Rich green in colour, they remain on the plant well into the summer. Flowers are quite unique in the Arisaema world, they are green at the base with a strong bloom to the outer surface, with a short purplish spathe limb (hood) at the base of which is a white mark. Page 280 in Guy & Liliane Gusman's book! Lovely. A must for the keen collector. High price is influenced from original bought in material.
