A fabulous herbaceous perennial from South Eastern United States where it grows in thick clumps under a loose tree canopy. The foliage is soft green and lanceolate, borne up the stems which can be to 70cms or so high.
Flowers are a pale blue-lavender and held in bunches on stems up to 50 or so in number.
Best in a humusy soil and in a position where the wind won't cause too much damage. Can take a few years to establish but well worth the wait. Eastern Bluestar.
