These are quite exceptional woodland plants from Japan. Foliage rises from shallow rooted rhizomes in early spring and is deep green and palmate although it is very deeply dissected and almost digitate, being around 20 cms wide on well grown plants. These rise directly from the rhizome as do the flower stems which hold the creamy white flowers. A strong scent is also present and the whole plant keeps flowering well into autumn. Seems similar to T.c. japonica but a little shorter and with deeper cuts to the leaves.
