A fine genus of plants all from western North America which are grown for their showy flowers. The foliage is all held on very short stems which makes the plant low growing and appear stemless forming rosettes. These have a silvery appearance suggests the habitat that it likes to be in - well drained sandy soils in full sun. The flowers are typically daisy-like with larger white ray florets and a yellow centre. Ideal for troughs or the rock garden.
