A reliable plant belonging to the Gentian family which requires the acid conditions of the Sino Himalayan types. This species will grow in any good acid garden soil providing it does not dry out. Foliage is heart shaped and deep green. It will produce flowers of a deep blue to violet colour through the late summer months.
