A good all rounder. Growth starts in early spring when the leaves grow from the stout stems which persist throughout the winter months. These are rich deep green and quite glossy with several deep dissections. The stem bear the flowers a little later, these are around 2 cms wide, creamy white and have five petals with yellowish anthers. In autumn the leaves turn a rich crimson red and persist for several weeks. Good over the front of raised beds or walls etc.
Originally Geum pentapetalum.
