A low growing cultivar growing quite widespread through northern Asia and the Himalayas. Deciduous in nature this species has red prostrate stems which hug the ground more-or-less and reach usually no more than around 3 cms high. Leaves are a fresh glossy green and quite small - maybe only 1 cm long or so. Flowers are obviously pinkish in early spring.
