A good early flowering herbaceous perennial which grows best in dappled shade. Leaves are held on strong stems to a height of 75 cms or so and are rich green and formed like fingers with fine serrations to the edge. Flowers are borne at the stem tips and are white and fully double, quite flourescent and numerous.
There are several clones of this plant in cultivation, all double flowered but this clone is the Scottish clone which is widely regarded as the best as it has many more petals to the flower, occasionally looking like a ball when fully open. Just look at that photo!
