We're pleased to be offering these hybrids for the first time in many years. It's a completely sterile hybrid apparently a cross of P. cockburniana and pulverulenta. It's produced here by division because of the lack of seed produced hence the slightly higher price.

Like many of the other candelabra primulas, it's a hardy herbaceous or deciduous Primula which produces scalloped dark green leaves with prominent veins and reddish-purple midrib. The flowers are borne on rigid stems which rise from the centre of each rosette. Flowers can be very numerous and are held all at the top of each stem, which is usually covered with a fine white farina, occasionally a second stem will rise from this cluster to flower later. Each flower is open-faced, outward facing and lasts about one week. Many whorls of flowers are produced per stem. Will tolerate full sun if the soil is very moist at all times.
