A relatively new plant which is similar to Campanula in appearance except that the flowers are much larger. The whole plant tends to be more of a clump former rather than travelling via rhizomes. Flowers are very attractive and a clear white in colour ,disproportionately big and produced in rapid succession. Each is composed of two layers of petals with the inner layer turned a little so that the flower has a star-like appearance. Flowering period is mainly in early summer although sporadic flowering continues throughout summer.
