A super genus of perennials, both the alpine and garden border types. This is more of an alpine type reaching up to 12 cms high, with mid to deep green foliage on wiry stems. The leaves are spathulate to lance shaped and will persist through all but the most hard of winters. Flowers are tubular with a lip, colour is pale lavender and multiple flowers are borne on dense racemes. An ideal plant for a trough or simply planted in the rock garden setting.
