A super plant and one of the best penstemons for the rock garden or trough. Tiny deep green serrated evergreen leaves resist all weathers and are held on decumbent stems. These will follow the contours of troughs or even trail over the edges of walls to make an evergreen mat from which the pouch-like violet-purple/pink flowers will rise. These are borne singly but numerously and glisten a little to draw the eye.
