 Foliage emerges in early spring from swollen roots. Colour is rich green and each leaf has a slow wave and occasionally a light curl or twist. Flowers are borne in mid summer on rigid stems, each stems carries numerous flowers of a tubular shape. Colour is lavender-purple and these are followed by green seed pods.
 This is a sport from Hosta venusta.
