A herbaceous perennial grown mainly for the foliage effect, it does however have attractive flowers. Foliage emerges in early spring from swollen roots. They unfurl and at this point the foliage is at its best. Colour is rich yellow and green around the margins, it looks similar to Green With Envy but maybe a bit smaller. Flowers are borne in mid summer on rigid stems, each stems carries numerous flowers of a tubular shape. Colour is lavender-purple and these are followed by green seed pods.
