A herbaceous perennial grown mainly for the foliage effect, it does however have attractive flowers. Foliage emerges in early spring from swollen roots. Colour is pale green with fine creamy stripes running along their length. Flowers are borne in mid summer on rigid stems, each stems carries numerous flowers of a tubular shape. Colour is lilac-purple and these are followed by green seed pods. A very nice plant with extremely narrow foliage.
