A perennial grown mainly for the foliage effect, it does however have attractive flowers. Foliage emerges in early spring from swollen roots. Colour is a creamy-yellow/ mid green mix with irregular markings to the leaves. Flowers are borne in mid summer on rigid stems, each stems carries numerous flowers of a tubular shape. Colour is a deeper-purple and these are followed by green seed pods.
