A dwarf species of Gunnera with glossy foliage which emerges early in spring just before the flowers. Each leaf is around 4 cms long and wide with strong veination. The stems carry the leaves and grow rapidly under ideal conditions of dappled shade and damp. Flowers are borne on short congested spikes and are rather insignificant. Ideal ground cover.
