A larger species of Gentian from China which is not too dissimilar to G. lutea in appearance but much smaller. Foliage is held on rigid stems to around 20 cms or so and is bright green, up to 20 cms or so in length and around 7 cms wide. Flowers are the typical tubular shape and creamy green to blue with whorls of leaves around them in late summer. A beautiful gentian and not too demanding.
