A vigorous herbaceous bulbous perennial, very similar to revolutum but bigger in all it's parts.Rising in early spring, the leaves first, followed quickly by the flowers. The leaves are large and strap shaped, pale glossy green and marbled with brown. Flower are a rich pink held on rigid stems with up to maybe 6 per stem. Each stem is up to 40 cms high although very occasionally it can reach 50 cms. Flower petals are slightly reflexed.
