This species is evergreen in all but the most severe of winters when it may lose its foliage. Leaves are medium to large sized sized and bronzey when young, pointed with fine spines to the edge. Flowers are borne in short racemes, are a white and rosy-purple to brown in colour, and hang pendulously from upright stems. From Hubei province - China. Collected by Mikinori Ogisu.
