A fascinating genus of plants from the Berberidaceae family. This species is evergreen and the new growth rises in early spring shortly after which, the flowers emerge. Leaves are fresh soft green when young but colour up to a deeper green when mature. Flowers are borne in tall racemes, are a pale creamy-white in colour in this collection, and hang pendulously from upright stems. Nice yellow anthers add to the interest. Collected my Mikinori Ogisu from northern Sichuan - China
