An herbaceous alpine plant from Oregon and Washington state USA with attractive foliage and flowers. Foliage rises in late winter or early spring and is mid green, around 7 cms long and 2 cms wide with conspicuously toothed edges. Flowers are borne a little later and are held on short 20 cm stems, up to around 5 on each stem. Colour is magenta pink with the stamens being prominently dark purple giving a good contrast.
Similar in appearance to D dentatum but with pink flowers and darker foliage. We believe this is the true form having confirmed with several people 'in the know'!
