A rarely offered plant from Japan where it grows in semi-wooded areas there to a height of around 30 cms. Glossy green serrated foliage rises from thick fleshy roots on thin but sturdy stems which terminate in the flower spikes. Flowers are small but numerous and scented being held on stems which look like white bottlebrushes. Easy in a moist soil.
