A compact but spreading Campanula with deep green glossy leaves. These emerge in spring on creeping stems which also carry the flowers. The flowers are borne along and at the tips of the relatively upright stems. They are bell shaped and a deep violet blue in colour, very much larger than the proportion you would expect from a plant of this size. Flowering lasts for several weeks or longer in favourable sites. It will tolerate stony walls and positions in full sun provided that the soil does not dry out completely.
