A hardy herbaceous plant which is grown for the crisp white flowers which emerge in early spring before the leaves. Each stem carries just one flower but there may be numerous stems, especially on larger established plants. Foliage arrives a little later and is bronzey deep green when young and unfolding to a deep green. Each is rounded with a slightly serrated edge. Please note that this plant will grow in woodland situations as well as full sun.
