This is quite probably the species which has made Arisaemas as popular as they are. One of the easiest species to cultivate in the garden situation or even in pots on the glasshouse bench. Growth starts in early summer (as late as mid July in parts of Scotland) the leaves emerging at the same time as the flower although the flower will be fully open by the time the leaves have unfurled. Flowers are as in the picture with a strong sweet scent. Foliage usually has three leaflets, one very large and two smaller - typical of the franchetiana group.
