A rarely seen Aquilegia from Wyoming - USA with the usual compounded foliage to a height of 10cms or so. Leaves are delicate in appearance but tough enough to last until the first frosts of autumn, being quite crowded and a slatey blue in colour. Flowers are very attractive being formed basically of two parts. The sepals are on the outside and are blue in colour, the petals on this species are the same colour as the tepals - purplish/blue. The whole hangs at the tip of each stem, occasionally with a second flower.
