Introduced some time ago by Edrom Nursery from China which boasts a lot more than just botanical interest. Foliage is the first to arrive in spring and this rises early (around mid February) but takes a long time to unfurl. Flower buds at this time are tight and held just above the foliage. Each leaf is compund and slightly leathery, being deep green in colour with a strong purplish sheen underneath. Flowers are the main attraction here and they certainly don't dissapoint. Each opens to over 5 cms wide, creamy white in colour they have a pale bluish sheen to the backs and each lasts for several weeks. Many flowers are borne on the plant which spreads by stolons much in the fashion of Anemone nemorosa vars.
