A fine species of Allium which grows from thickened roots as well as the small bulb. Flowers are star shaped, creamy white in colour and held in dense heads of up to 30 flowers during mid summer, the whole held on a rigid mid green stem. The leaves are strap shaped and mid green in colour, although they do have a fine glaucous bloom when they first emerge from the bulb.
