This is a showy member of the genus of plants from South Africa which grow well in a gritty well drained but not dry soil in full sun. Allium-like foliage is very soft and rich green, growing away in mid spring from the white bulbs. Flowers are held on stems to around 40 cms high. This is a hybrid of shawii and humilis which has straw coloured flowers and a nice sweet scent.
