Devil's Bit Scabious. This is basically a short Scabious from Europe with lanceolate deep green foliage with fine bristles on the upper surface. The foliage makes dense mounds to a height of maybe 12 cms and the flowers are held on stems to around 20 cms high or so.
Flower colour is a soft lavender-purple and each is very small but held in a compound head of around 2 cms wide and looking almost like a pom-pom.
Dwarf form of the species.
