Jeffersonia dubia
Product Details
A lovely woodland perennial from North East Asia. Interest begins in spring with the emergence of the foliage which is quite purplish at first but as it unfolds, it takes on a rich matte green colour. These are held individually on wiry petioles which emerge directly from the rhizome laying just beneath the soil surface. Spread of he plant is indefinite although it is not a fast grower. Flowers are borne shortly after leaf emergence, these are lavender-purple in colour and held upright like wide cups, maybe up to an inch wide when fully open.
