Hydrangea hirta
Product Details
This is a widespread species across Japan and into eastern Asia where it is used as a landscaping plant. It only reaches around 1 metre high or so and can be readily pruned in early spring for best results. The 'Nettle-Leaved Hydrangea' is so called because it has stinging bristles like a nettle although we have never found it to be a problem.
Flowers are white on our clone but they can be a pale purplish and held in typical hydrangea clusters making a large flower head.
