Big blue flowers with petaloid stamens
Hepatica transsilvanica Flore Plena
Product Details
A older established variety of the genus and one of the few double flowered with flowers to 3 cms wide or more, very similar to both Connie Greenfield and Elison Spence. Flowers are made up of broad blue petals with smaller but deeper coloured inner petals (petaloid stamens), a good strong blue not often seen in the garden. Foliage is tri-lobed and mid green in colour, dying away only in the colder winter months. The flowers tend to rise in early spring before the foliage. This is very similar to Elison Spence.
