A choice Japanese woodland perennial which, in the right conditions, will grow quickly to make a magnificent talking point. Leaves emerge in early spring shortly before the flowers. Each leaf can be up to 20 cms wide and is strongly serrated/palmate, soft green and conspicuously veined. The flowers are borne on rigid stems which protrude through the top of the leaf canopy, they are borne singly at nodes up the stem. Colour is a pale pink/lilac and each flower can be up to 10 cms wide or even more.
