An exciting cross between Kalmiopsis and Phyllodoce which was made in 1975 by Barry Starling. This was considered the best of the resultant seedlings and named. Essentially looking like a Phyllodoce - spreading to around 16 inches in 5 or 6 years although it will be only around half this in height. The leaves are deep glossy rich green and rather needle-like, up to 1 inch long. Flowers are held on 1 inch pedicels and are lavender-pink in colour, around half an inch wide and saucer shaped.
