This is a low growing evergreen ericaceous plant from China which will make a low mat of growth in a lightly shaded acid spot. Leaves are rounded and have a ring of fine hairs around the edge, these are held on arching stems which are brown and again covered with hairs. Plants will flower in early summer and the flowers are the usual bell-like affair of ericaceous plants, whiteish-pink in colour. The fruits which follow are red when new but age to black with a conspicuous calyx.
