A dwarf Trillium reaching only 10 cms high or so in height. The leaves of this species are a deep glossy green with visible veining, reaching only 5cms or so in length. Flowers are borne on erect pedicels, although these tend to recurve downwards as the flower ages. Colour is white to pink and on this variety, which is unofficially named, reddish speckles throughout with an underlying pinkish hue. This is a seed raised form from Trillium rivale Purple Heart. The photo is one of the seedlings from a batch but these can vary and be only slightly spotted in some cases. Some are better than this photo!
