A subtle but highly attractive species of Trillium with variably marbled young foliage in spring. Often sold by other nurseries under the name T. parviflorum which tends to have smaller flowers. Leaves are up to 12 cms long and 9 cms wide on larger plants, a strong dark reddish-brown colour is evident as irregular blotches when the leaves are young but will fade with age. The flowers on this species are sessile (stemless), the petals emerging directly from the union of the three leaflets. Each petal is up to nearly 8 cms high and 2 cms wide. Colour is consistently pure white with a fine pink cast to each petal base, a sweet scent of roses is also present. From Washington state to California.
