One of the best of the Ligulatae section saxifrages. A rosette forming evergreen perennial which produces rosettes to around inch wide. Each is rich green and, in limey soils, a deposit of lime can be seen around the edge of each leaf. A rose colouration can be seen to the base of the leaves, especially just before flowering. Flowers are crisp white held on rigid stems, each has occasional and random red spotting in the flower. Similar to S. Dr Ramsey but has paler rose colouring to the base of the leaves.
