The foliage on this species is the first part of the plant to rise from rest through the winter months. This is rounded, palest green and covered with fine white hairs, although these tend to dissappear as they mature. The flowers are borne on relatively short stems and are held in tight clusters. The bud colour dictates the flower colour - white buds opening pure white and purplish buds opening pale blue-purple. The flowers open to reveal the relevant colour, each is wide open-mouthed and the scent is intoxicating! A real gem in the genus. Seed raised and therefore mixed blues and whites in the batch until they flower. Can't praise this species enough.
