The foliage on this species is the first part of the plant to rise from rest through the winter months. This is elongated, palest green and covered with fine white hairs, although these tend to dissappear as they mature. The flowers are borne on rigid stems and are held in a tight spike. Each flower is wide open-mouthed and the scent is intoxicating! A real gem in the genus and certainly rivalling reidii for scent!
