A species with rich green very finely dissected fronds. Generally evergreen except in the harshest winters, growth of the new fronds begins in late spring with the new fronds taking several weeks to unfurl. Each is up to 4 pinnatifid (divided four times) but occasional fronds with a single division are present. Possibly the most pinnatifid Polypody.
